Example 1: Proportional table

  3. Step 3:Row 3: 10÷3 = 3.33
  4. Step 4:Ratios are not equal

Frequently asked questions

How do I check a table for proportionality?

Divide y by x for every row. If all divisions give the same number, it's proportional.

What if x=0 in my table?

Skip that row. But if x=0 and y≠0, the relationship cannot be proportional.
