A table, a graph, an equation — three ways to check proportionality, one standard (7.RP.A.2). You need practice sets for each, and we've built them.

What's Included

The Proportional Relationships Practice Pack contains five worksheet types. Every worksheet comes with a complete answer key and a Google Slides version for remote learning.

| Worksheet | Skills Covered | Problems | |---|---|---| | Table Practice | Identifying proportional tables, finding kk, writing y=kxy = kx | 20 | | Graph Practice | Identifying proportional graphs, reading points, finding kk | 16 | | Equation Practice | Recognizing y=kxy = kx form, identifying kk | 20 | | Word Problems | Real-world scenarios, writing equations from context | 12 | | Mixed Review | All four skills combined, test-style format | 15 |

Table Practice

Students compute y÷xy \div x for each row to determine proportionality.

Sample Problem: Table A has pairs (3,12)(3, 12), (5,20)(5, 20), (7,28)(7, 28). Table B has (1,6)(1, 6), (3,10)(3, 10), (5,14)(5, 14). Which is proportional?

Solution: Table A: 12÷3=412 \div 3 = 4, 20÷5=420 \div 5 = 4, 28÷7=428 \div 7 = 4. k=4k = 4. y=4xy = 4x. Proportional. Table B: ratios differ. Not proportional.

Graph Practice

Students check two conditions: straight line? passes through (0,0)(0, 0)?

Sample Problem: Graph A goes through (0,0)(0, 0), (2,8)(2, 8), (5,20)(5, 20). Graph B goes through (0,3)(0, 3), (2,7)(2, 7), (4,11)(4, 11). Which is proportional?

Solution: Graph A: k=8÷2=4k = 8 \div 2 = 4, through origin. Proportional. Graph B: doesn't pass through (0,0)(0, 0). Not proportional.

Equation Practice

Students classify equations as proportional or not.

Sample Problem:

  1. y=6xy = 6x — proportional? kk?
  2. y=34x+2y = \frac{3}{4}x + 2 — proportional?
  3. y=0.2xy = 0.2x — proportional? kk?

Answers: 1. Yes, k=6k = 6. 2. No. 3. Yes, k=0.2k = 0.2.

Word Problems

Twelve real-world scenarios requiring students to extract the rate and write y=kxy = kx.

Sample Problem: A faucet drips at a constant rate. After 15 minutes, 45 mL have leaked. After 25 minutes, 75 mL. Write the equation.

Solution: k=45÷15=3k = 45 \div 15 = 3. Check: 75÷25=375 \div 25 = 3. y=3xy = 3x (yy: mL, xx: minutes).

Mixed Review

15 problems combining all four skills — formatted as a unit test. Use as a pretest or post-test.
